Charles R. Gregg, Jr., 82, of Lancaster, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010, while under the care of Hospice of Lancaster County. Charlie was the husband of Betty Joann (Mize) Gregg for over 44 years.

He worked for the Schick Corporation and later retired from Bearings Corporation of America. Following retirement, Charlie worked as an usher for the American Music Theater. He was a member of Lampeter United Methodist Church.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force, honorably discharged in 1949 and returned to serve in the US Army, being again honorably discharged in 1952. Charlie enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and collecting Winross Trucks.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Charles R. Gregg Sr. and Mary Gregg Rissinger. Charlie is also survived by three daughters, Rebecca married to James Ziegler of Lancaster, Deborah married to Michael Layman of Marietta and Tammy married to Randy Dupler of Elizabethtown, eight grandchildren, a step-grandson and a brother, Robert J. Gregg of Willow Street.

Her Obit: Betty “Joann” Gregg, 77, of Lancaster, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, October 2, 2017. Born in Smyth County, VA, Joann was the daughter of the late Lessie (Taylor) Townsend and the late Milton Edward and Bessie H. Mize. She is now reunited with her husband, Charles Robert Gregg, Jr., who died in 2010.
Joann worked for 20 years at Kmart and 20 years as a jewelry receiver for QVC, Rockvale Outlets. She belonged to Lampeter United Methodist Church. An avid reader, she especially enjoyed spending her time reading romance novels. Joann also had a green thumb and found great satisfaction caring for her flower garden. But more than anything, Joann loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Joann is survived by her daughters: Rebecca L. Ziegler, wife of James; Deborah D. Layman, wife of Michael; and Tammy Dupler; her siblings: Edward Mize, Wanda Funderwhite, Joyce Plank, Bonnie Moran, Susan Wilson, Milton Mize, Jr., and Gina Johnson; she is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11AM, on Friday, October 6 2017, at Lampeter United Methodist Church, 1101 Village Rd., Lampeter, PA 17537. A viewing for family and friends will be held at the church from 10AM to 11AM, prior to the service. Joann will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Kinzer Mennonite Cemetery, Kinzers, PA.     Anna Leah M. Rintz, 79, formerly of 830-D May Post Office Road, Strasburg, died Sunday evening at 348 Sawmill Road, at the home of her son John, with whom she resided for the past four years. She was the widow of Chester T. "Jack" Rintz who died June 2, 1990.

    Leah was born in East Hempfield Township on the family farm of her aunt and uncle, a daughter of the late James D. and Anna Gregg McFann. Leah retired from the former Strasburg Pharmacy in 1979 where she was employed as a clerk for 15 years. She was a 1944 graduate of Colerain Township High School.

    She was a member of Mt. Eden Lutheran Church, Quarryville. She served on the Strasburg Township election board and was a former member of the Solanco Senior Citizens. Leah was an avid traveler. Leah enjoyed spending time with her family of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

    She is survived by four children, James C., married to Faye Hess Rintz, of Mount Joy, Shirley A., married to Edward Huegel, Jr., of Lancaster, John C., companion of Keith Wittig, of Strasburg, and Judith A., married to Charles Buckwalter, of Strasburg; eight grandchildren, Troy, husband of Beth Rintz, of Wyoming, Lynette, wife of Owen Thomas, of Elizabethtown, Darren, husband of Debbie Huegel, of Conestoga, Sharon, wife of James Williams, of Willow Street, Amy, wife of Frank Bradley, of Lititz, Adam Huegel of Lancaster, Jodi, wife of Ben Hollinger, of Strasburg, and Erin, wife of Colm Hirschmann, of Strasburg; 13 great-grandchildren, Isaac and Austin Thomas, Douglas and Andrew Huegel, Bailey and Samantha Williams, Alisha, Tyler, Kayla and Hailee Bradley, Madison Baker, Ema Hollinger, and Isabella Anna Hirschmann; and her beloved sister, Alta Reinhart of Kirkwood.

Geraldine H. Rapp, 81, died on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Manor Care Health Services. She was the wife of William J. Rapp, Jr., who died in 2003.

Born in Strasburg, Geraldine was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Elizabeth “Libby” (Rhoads) Herr. She is survived by two sons, William J., III, married to Marjory Rapp of Lakewood, CO and Frank H. married to Catherine Rapp of Reading, four grandchildren, a sister, Frances married to Andrew Caldwell of Lancaster, a sister, Ida (married to Gerald Gregg deceased) of Lancaster, and a brother, David married to Wendy Herr of Bishopville, MD.

Geraldine graduated from the former Millersville State Teachers College. She taught school for the Lancaster City School District and later for Lampeter-Strasburg School District for 17 years at the Strasburg Elementary School.

She was the Director of the Strasburg-Heisler Library for 23 years.

Geraldine was a member of the Strasburg Area Women’s Club, a charter member and Past President of the Lancaster County Federation of Women’s Clubs and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Paul R. Strubel VFW Post #8710 and a Past President of the Strasburg Senior Citizens, Conestoga View Auxiliary and the Strasburg Group of Lancaster County Life Story Writers.

It was Geraldine’s wish for private family services and interment in Paradise Presbyterian Cemetery.
