Memorial service for William (Bill) Chubb, who died Saturday, May 14, 2005, at the Veteran's Nursing Home, Daytona Beach, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at Tomoka United Methodist Church, 1000 Old Tomoka Road, Ormond Beach. Following the service, a reception will be held in Bear Creek. Mr. Chubb was born Dec. 5, 1920, in Owego, N.Y. From 1942 until 1946 he served in the Army Air Corps. He and his wife, Valerie, were married Sept. 9, 1950, and lived in State College, Pa., until 1989 when they moved to Bear Creek, Ormond Beach. Bill graduated from Penn State in electrical engineering in 1952. He worked for 32 years as an engineer for HRB-Singer in State College and worked for Penn State University in the mining engineering department for three years. For many years he enjoyed bring an amateur radio operator. A loyal Penn State football fan, he attended home football games for 53 years. He was a member of the Penn State Alumni Association, The Institute of Electrical Engineers, and the Tomoka United Methodist Church of Ormond Beach. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include their three children, Sandra L. Ferrara, Bellefonte, Pa., David A. Chubb, Safety Harbor, and Daniel R. Chubb, Dallastown, Pa; sisters and brothers, Dora Bradshaw, Gahanna, Ohio, Barbara Wale, Ormond Beach, Jacqueline Dobbeck, Gambrills, Md., and Charles R. Chubb, Myrtle Beach, S.C; sister-in-law, Nancy Chinault, Port Orange; six grandchildren; and 17 nieces and nephews. Bill was a wonderful husband and father.
