He was born October 23, 1923 in Kittanning, the son of Tom and Nannah (Claypoole)(This is wrong information in the paper, first name Hannah last name Cousins, Hannah's mothers maiden name is Claypoole).

Cousins, a World War II veteran, was employed by the Prospect Nursery, near Butler.

Survivors include his brother, Robert Cousins of Minneapolis, Minn; and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Mechling of Kittanning RD 7, and Mrs. Nona Kline of Freeport RD 1.

COUSINS-Friends of Sylvester W. Cousins, who died June 20, 1969, will be received at the Duane Snyder Funeral Home, Kittanning, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday (June 23). Officiating at the service will be the Rev. C. Auston, pastor of the North Buffalo Brethren Church. Burial will be in the Center Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Snyder.
