Mrs. Montgomery was a member of the Templeton Presbyterian Church. Surviving are a son, Turney Montgomery, Springdale; her twin brother, John H. Miller, Templeton; a brother W.H. Miller, Kittanning; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Poole, Kittanning R.D.#5, and Mrs. Margaret Clark, Kittanning, and one granddaughter, Sally Lee Montgomery of Springdale. His obit: John A Montgomery, of Reesedale, Pa. died in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA on Tuesday April 16, 1935, following a short illness. He is survived by his wife Mary Mongomery, one son, Turney Montgomery of Springdale, and one grandchild. Services will be held at his late residence in Reesedale on Friday at 1 p.m. in charge of Rev. Walter Kennedy. His funeral was one of the largest funerals in this section for many a day. The body was taken to the Tidal Cemetery for burial. WARREN, Ohio - Otha M. (Jake) Furlong, 79, of 164 York Ave, NW, died at 4:35 a.m. yesterday in Trumbull Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born in Armstrong County, Pa., on May 2, 1903, to the late Boyd and Sarah Sharrar Furlong. He resided in New Castle until moving to Warren in 1941 and was retired from the Republic Steel Corp. in Warren.
Mr. Furlong was a veteran of the World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy Seebee from 1942 to 1945.
He was married first to the former Grace Anthony, who preceded him in death in 1934.
He is survived by his second wife, Rita Chiveney, whom he married June 30, 1945; six daughters, Mrs. Robert (Voila) Black of New Wilmington, Mrs. Harry (Marian) Marietta of New Castle, Mrs. David (Beverly) Flamino of Rockville, Conn., Mrs. David (Linda) Hovanic of Bristolville, Ohio, Miss Betty Furlong of Warren, and Miss Doris Furlong, at home; three sons, Lyle N. (Bill) of New-Castle, Dale A. of Southington, Ohio, Keith Furlong Miller off Lower Burrell, Pa; a brother, Vern E. of Brookfield, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. L. W. (Fannie) Shirey of New Castle and Mrs. Alvin G. (Geneva) Lucas of Natrona Heights; and 23 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Merlin; a brother, Clyde; and a sister, Mrs. Ruby O'Laughlin.

Her Obit: Geneva L. (Furlong) Lucas, 102, of Apollo, formerly of Natrona Heights, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. Geneva was born March 3, 1911, in Distant, to the late Boyd and Sarah Sharrar Furlong. She was a self-employed seamstress. She was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Saxonburg, and did volunteer work with the Allegheny Valley Hospital Auxiliary and the Concordia Lutheran Home. She enjoyed reading and knitting. She is survived by her two daughters, Phyllis (Donald) Stewart, of Saxonburg, and Madora Crooks, of Apollo; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin M. Lucas (in 1986); her son, Joel Lucas (in 1957); three brothers, Otha, Clyde and Vern Furlong; and two sisters, Fannie Shirey and Ruby O'Laughlin.
