She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Milltown. Mrs. Brown was a former charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 317, Gulf Breeze, FL; former member of O.E.S., Allah Chapter 211, Milltown and currently a member of O.E.S., Ruth Chapter 12, Milltown. She was also a member of HI-12 Auxiliary and the Milltown Senior Citizens Club. Her husband, George F. Brown died in 1992. She was also predeceased by her brother, Neil J. Applegate and her sister-in-law, Mary Applegate. Surviving are her son, Neil K. Brown and his wife, Dorothy of Milltown; 1 granddaughter, Pamela Brown Murvay and her husband, Karl of Milltown; 2 great-grandchildren, Lauren Murvay and Nicholas Murvay; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dorothy V. Everett Fairbanks, 88, of Blairsville died Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Fairbanks was born July 17, 1916 in Blairsville, daughter of James M. and Amanda Cousins Everett. She lived her entire life in Blairsville where she was a member of Hebron Lutheran Church and Eastern Star 166.
Survivors include four children, Robert G. and wife Joy, Carl D. and Mrs. Roger (Nancy) Bergman, all of Blairsville, and Mrs. Michael (Mary Jane) Kernen, Lakeland, Fla; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Glenn O. in 1992; granddaughter Amy Fairbanks; her brothers James and Meade; her sisters Florence Weir and Barbara Lightbody.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday in Hebron Lutheran Church, Blairsville, Rev. Karen L. Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery.
