Maria Magdalene Wingerman was born on 2 February 1721 at Heidelberg, Heidelberg, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany.1,4 She married Thomas Adams circa __ ___ 1754-1757 at Possibly York County 1757, Conewago, Adams, Pennsylvania.1,3 Maria Magdalene Wingerman died on 2 January 1826 at Taneytown, Carroll, Maryland, at age 104.1,4 She was buried on 5 January 1826 at St Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery, Taneytown, Carroll, Maryland; Widow of Thomas Adams who died in 1776 and was buried at Conewago Chapel just over the Pennsylvania line from Taneytown. Magdalene was interred next to her son Thomas who died the same year as she, 1826. Her age is very likely exaggerated, given that her husband's stated birth date on his stone would have made him fourteen years younger than Magdalene. In addition, Magdalene would have been 54 years old at the birth of her last son, Richard, in September of 1776. Nevertheless, her survivors described her on the headstone as one "who died at the age of 104 loaded with years and virtuous deeds."
