He leaves his widow, Mrs. Blanche Cousins McDonald; a daughter, Florence McDonald at home; a sister, Mrs. Clara Schaeffer of Walk Chalk, and a brother, Roy McDonald of New Mine. The body has been removed to the Dengler Funeral home, 137 West Jefferson street, where friends will be received.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by one daughter Sandra L. Houck of Gap, one granddaughter Debra A. Houck of Coatesville and two great grandsons Charles E. Hicks and Carl P. Dessenberger. He was preceded in death by four siblings; Norman Houck, Elsie Hoffman, Mary Strock and Ellen Leoni.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 1pm at the Terre Hill Methodist Cemetery, 105 W Main St., Terre Hill, PA.2 He was buried on 16 February 2013 at Terre Hill Cemetery, Terre Hill, Lancaster, Pennsylvania.2
