     Dorothy Wimer was born on 10 August 1921.¹ She married John W Dearolf, son of Harry H Dearolf and Martha H Gregg, on 28 March 1943 at Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Dorothy Wimer died on 17 October 2010 at Mount Joy Hospice, Mount Joy, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, at age 89. Her obituary reads:
Dorothy E. Wimer Dearolf, age 89, of Strasburg, PA, died peacefully Sunday, October 17, 2010, at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mt. Joy, PA. She was born in Eden Township, a daughter of the late Roy W. and Olive S. Oatman Wimer. She was the wife of John W. Dearolf who died January 3, 2008.

Dorothy worked at J.F. Appel Jeweler, Hamilton Watch Co., J.C. Pontz grocery store, J.H. Witmer IGA Store, First National Bank of Strasburg, and Bank of Lancaster County until her retirement in 1986. She sold Avon for 8 years in and around the Strasburg area. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. Dorothy was a life-time member of Mt. Eden Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Surviving is a son, Barry married to Pat Reinhart Dearolf of Quarryville; a granddaughter, Jodi married to Bryan Long of Lancaster; two great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Lefever, and a brother, Harold Wimer.

Funeral services will be held from Mt. Eden Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1241 May Post Office Road, Quarryville, PA on Thursday at 3:00 PM with Pastor Traci B. Glover officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 7:00-9:00 PM and again on Thursday from 2:00 PM until the time of service. Please omit flowers. Contributions may be made in Dorothy's memory to Mt. Eden Endowment Fund, 1241 May Post Office Road, Quarryville, PA 17566 or to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
