I. Lee Brown, Jr., age 93 of Paradise, PA, passed away at the Mt. Joy Hospice Center on Saturday, January 24, 2015. He was the husband of the late Doris Brackbill Brown who passed away on January 17, 2012. He was born in Coatesville, son of the late Ira L. & Mildred C. George Brown. He was a member of Leacock Presbyterian Church for 79 years, where he served as a trustee, elder and choir member and attended to the care and maintenance of the pipe organ.

Lee was a graduate of Paradise High School class of 1940. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps serving during WW II. Lee attended Franklin & Marshall College and was a graduate of Eckels College of Mortuary Science. He owned and operated the I. Lee Brown Funeral Home of Paradise. He was a member of Christiana Masonic Lodge, Gideons International and Paradise Lions Club of which he was a Melvin Jones Fellowship recipient. He was on the board and caretaker of Paradise Cemetery Association and N. Milton Woods Home for Retired Presbyterian Ministers. He volunteered with Paradise Meals On Wheels and was the president for 50 years of Paradise Township Relief Association for Paradise-Leaman Place and Kinzer Fire Companies. Lee enjoyed antique cars, gardening and being involved in his church and community.

He is survived by 4 children: Phyllis E. wife of Wayne D. Johnson of Midland, MI, Eileen B. wife of Rev. John M. Best of Kalamazoo, MI, Elinor B. wife of Peter D. Combs of Paradise, I. Lee, III husband of Sheryl K. Allison Brown of Narvon, 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 4 step-great grandchildren, and 2 siblings: Wilson G. husband of Alice Brown of Seaford, DE, Evelyn Frew of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a great grandson, Dominic L. Alexander, and 2 siblings: Mary Jane Fitz and Robert W. Brown.

he funeral service will be held at the Leacock Presbyterian Church, 3181 Lincoln Hwy. East, Paradise, PA on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert Birch officiating.

Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a viewing at the Shivery Funeral Home, 3214 Lincoln Hwy East, Paradise, on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made for the care of the church pipe organ to Leacock Presbyterian Church, 3181 Lincoln Hwy East, Paradise, PA 17562 or to Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
