He worked as a company truck driver with LTV from 1950 to 1985. He then worked for RJ Trucking, retiring in 1994. Lester was an avid gardener and family man, who dearly loved his wife, children and grandchildren and always put them first in his life. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in New Middletwon.

Lester leaves his wife; three sons, Paul (Sheila) McIntyre of Canfield, Lester McIntyre of New Middletown and Scott (Rintra) McIntyre of Connecticut; two daughters, Jodi (John) Ramsey of Brookfield and Linda McIntyre of New Middletown; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John Edward McIntyre III, who died in 1981; one brother, Kenneth; and two sisters, Vera and Jean.
