Joseph William McCauley was born on 11 November 1941 at Lancaster, Lancaster, Pennsylvania.1,2 He married Erma Jean Weber on 30 January 1960.1 Joseph William McCauley died on 10 November 2012 at Lancaster, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, at age 70. HIs obituary read:
Joseph "Joe" William McCauley, 70, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 10, 2012. He was married to Erma J. (Weaber) McCauley for over 52 years.
Born November 11, 1941 in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Hayes T. McCauley and Sara O. (Jackson) Flahart. He was the foster son of the late Ross and Emma Thompson.
Joe worked in construction doing roofing, siding and stone masonry for R.F. Groff Inc., J.D. Eckman, and McMinn's. He loved gardening, going to public auctions and tending to his roadside produce stand where he was affectionately known as the "Tomato Man."
In addition to his wife, are three daughters, Brenda Henne, Connie and Donna McCauley; two sons, Joseph McCauley, Jr., and Travis McCauley (Kathy); nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four brothers, Richard (Lydia), Donald (Nancy), Robert (June) McCauley and David Mast; five sisters, Janet Flahart (James), Ruthie Scholtzhauer, Betty Jane Anderson, Judy McClenaghan, Sandy Kight (David); foster sister, Dr. Shirely Khalouf; a foster brother, Rev. Robert Mussmon (Mae); a half-sister, Faye and two step brothers, Charlie Hanna (Pauline) and Jerry Hanna. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa L. McCauley and a brother, Raymond McCauley.
