     Mark Langdon Hill was born on 30 June 1772 at Biddeford, York, Maine.1,2 He married Mary McCobb, daughter of James McCobb and Hannah (Nickels) Millar, before 1789. Mark Langdon Hill died on 26 November 1842 at Phippsburg, Sagadahoc, Maine, at age 70, his obit: S. Congressman. He was a merchant and shipbuilder at Phippsburg, Maine and trustee of Bowdoin College, Maine, (1796-1842). He was member of the Main State House of Representatives, (1797-1808, 10, 13-14), served in the Main State Senate. (1804, 15-17), judge of the court of common pleas in 1810 and served on the General Court of Massachusetts. In 1819, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixteenth Congress and Seventeenth Congress, serving until 1823. After leaving Congress, he was postmaster of Phippsburg, Maine, (1819-24) and appointed as a collector of customs at Bath, Maine, in 1824.

     Rachel Brooks was born on 20 July 1740 at Scituate, Plymouth, Massachusetts.1 She married John Heal, son of Peter Heal and Miriam Haskol ( Hall), in 1761.1 Rachel Brooks died on 10 January 1821 at Georgetown, Sagadahoc, Maine, at age 80. Rachel BROOKS, originally from Scituate, MA, was the daughter of Gilbert and Abigail (Stockbridge) BROOKS, and the 4th great-granddaughter of Richard WARREN, who arrived on the Mayflower in 1620. She was baptized in Scituate on 20 JUL 1740, and relocated to Maine sometime prior to 1761. She and John HEAL filed marriage intentions on 14 MAR 1761 and were married in Georgetown on 2 APR 1761. The Vital Records of Georgetown give Rachel’s date of death as 28 JAN 1822, which is almost certainly correct.1 She was buried on 13 January 1821 at Heal-Brooks Cemetery, Georgetown, Sagadahoc County, Maine.1 Rachel Heal Find-a-Grave.com ID # 209569169.
