     Lester Lavorne Ranck was born circa 1929 at Honeybrook, Chester, Pennsylvania.1,2 He married Thelma Dawson, daughter of Harold Dawson and Evelyn Nigh, between 1949 and 1950.3 Lester Lavorne Ranck died on 6 March 2008 at Brandywine Hospital, Coatesville, Chester, Pennsylvania; Lester L. “Jake” Ranck Sr., 78, of Parkesburg, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at the Brandywine Hospital.
He was the widower of the late Thelma M. Ranck, who passed away in 2006 after they had shared 56 years of marriage together.
Born in Honey Brook, he was the son of the late Chester A. and Anna Styer Ranck.
A resident of Parkesburg since 1968, Jake was a member of both the American Legion in Parkesburg and Christiana. He was a member of the Pomeroy United Methodist Church.
He served honorably in the U.S. Navy for 10 years during the Korean War and peace time, serving on the USS Coral Sea in 1949 as a plank owner the USS Gilbert Islands in 1953, and the USS Valley Forge in 1954; and in the Air Force for an additional 10 years, serving in the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1965 retiring in 1967.
He is survived by five children: Linda wife of Henry Seal of Parkesburg, Catherine, wife of Anthony Carr of Shreveport, La., Tina, wife of John Sager of Phoenixville and Judy, wife of John DiSante of Honey Brook; and one son, Lester L. Ranck Jr. of Sadsburyville; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 17 step-great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Anna Romaine Summers of Honey Brook and A. Claire Ranck of Strasburg.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin Seal; a nephew, Danny Dawson; and a step-granddaughter, Rachael Carr.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 15, at 11 a.m. at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Upper Octorara Cemetery of Parkesburg.

     Joanne M Ranck was born on 29 December 1937.1,2 She married Thomas L Law, son of Thomas R Law and Thelma M Lammey, on 29 August 1952; Marriage Date calculated from obituary.3 Joanne M Ranck died on 24 June 2009 at Lancaster, Pennsylvania, at age 71; Joanne R. Law, age 72 of Ronks, PA entered into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 after a courageously fought battle with cancer. She was the wife of Thomas L. Law with whom she celebrated 56 years of marriage on August 29th of last year. She was born in Gap, daughter of the late John E. & Myrtle Summers Ranck. She was a member of Limeville United Methodist Church of Gap and attended New Providence Church of God.

Joanne worked at several area garment factories and had also worked for her daughter Debbie at Country Gardens Restaurant of Parkesburg. She belonged to a quilting club in Sebring, FL. She loved sewing, traveling and spending the winters in Sebring, FL and her summers in Sea Isle City, N.J.

Surviving besides her husband are two children: Deborah S. wife of Michael V. Fisher of Gap, Thomas E. husband of Vivien Trostle Law of New Providence, 6 grandchildren: Brandon, Aftan and Lauren Fisher all of Gap, Weslea, Drew and Zane Law all of New Providence, two sisters: Elaine wife of Richard Graybeal of Gap, Lorretta wife of Roy 'Tiny' Jones of Gap.

Services will be at the convenience of the family with burial in the Cedar Grove Presbyterian Cemetery of Blue Ball.

He was the husband of Anna M. Ranck Baxter. They celebrated their
53rd wedding anniversary on June 21.

He was born in Salisbury Township, a son of the late John K. and Elizabeth Kessler Baxter.

He was a member of the Honey Brook United Methodist Church. Baxter worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, retiring
in 1974.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother, John Baxter,
Kinzer; one sister, Gertrude Spotts, Quarryville; and several nieces and nephews.

     Leah Richwine was born circa 1838 at Pennsylvania.2 She married James A. Gregg, son of William Gregg and Grace Amelia Long, on 11 January 1855.3 Leah Richwine died on 23 August 1861.
     As of 11 January 1855,her married name was Gregg.3 She and James A. Gregg appeared on the census of 18 July 1860 at Salisbury Township, Gap Post Office, Lancaster, Pennsylvania; James is age 28, Leah age 24, Ann M., 3 and Mary Richwine 58. James is recorded as being a Farm Laborer and listed between Farm Owners James McCauley and Henry Eby. On Bridgens1864 Lancaster County map those farmers are listed as being in area close to north side of present day US 30 in the vicinity of Hensel Rd. McCauley Farms are along Hensel Rd.2 Leah Richwine and James A. Gregg Administrative Account records the naming of Benjamin Brackbill as guardian of their daughter, Anna M. Gregg. in 1874 at Lancaster, Pennsylvania.4

     Anna Mary Gregg was born on 5 December 1856 at Lancaster, Pennsylvania.This date is from James A Gregg pension records. Date on death certificate is 1 year later, 1857.2 She married Henry B. Hauck, son of William Houck and Margaret Ann Caffrey, on 19 November 1874 at Reformed Parsonage, New Holland, Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Marriage was performed by Darius W. Gerhard at the parsonage.3 Anna Mary Houck died on 27 November 1939 at Salisbury Township, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, at age 82.Cause of death was 'possibly' cerebral hemorrhage. Family doctor J. E. Hostetter, signed death certificate as informant. On this death certificate, the informant listed her father's name as William James Gregg.4,2

Richwine.6 She was a witness Administrative Account records the naming of Benjamin Brackbill as guardian of their daughter, Anna M. Gregg. with James A. Gregg and Leah Richwine in 1874 at Lancaster, Pennsylvania.7 Anna Mary Gregg was also known as Anna Mary Houck. As of 19 November 1874,her married name was Hauck.3 She was beneficiary of check for $200 paid to her Grandmother for support from her father's estate on 29 March 1875 at Lancaster City, Lancaster, Pennsylvania.8 She Benjamin Brackbill was appointed guardian after death of both parents. Anna M. is recorded as having 10 children, 10 living, and they were married for 25 years.10 Anna Mary Gregg and Henry B. Patricia D. Gregg, age 67, of Gap, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Brandywine Hospital. She was the wife of J. Harold Gregg with whom she celebrated 18 years of marriage on August 15th of last year. She was born in West Chester, daughter of the late William & Edith Thomas Dowlin. Pat graduated from Conestoga High School class of 1962. She was a Loan Officer for Citadel Federal Credit Union of Lionville, PA. She was a member of the Christiana American Legion and the Gap V.F.W.

Surviving besides her husband are 4 children: Stephanie Hayman Shoemaker wife of William Shoemaker of Cochranville, Steven B. Hayman, Jr. of Wichita Falls, TX, Mark husband of Dawn DiDonato Gregg of Coatesville, Jenny wife of Eric Hagans of Gap; 3 grandchildren; sister: Elsie wife of Brian Shirk of Madeira Beach, FL.

A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday evening, January 5th, at 7 p.m. from the Faith Bible Chapel, 140 Bernard Avenue, Cochranville, PA with a time to greet the family from 6 p.m. until time of service. Pastor Scott Althouse will be officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
