She also took great joy in her grandchildren: Seth (Valerie) and Jessica Grubb; Katelyn, Melissa, and Rebecca Miller. Lydia Kametz, Ruth Fink, and Oliver Hurst.
A graduate of the former Upper Leacock High School, Leola, Lancaster County, class of 1945, Kate went on to work in the payroll department of the New Holland Machine Company Mew Holland, PA, prior to her marriage. She later worked as a salesperson for the Watt & Shand Department Store in downtown Lancaster, PA. Never one to sit around doing nothing, Kate volunteered for many years at both the Lancaster, PA and Millersville, PA Meals On Wheels (MOW), and was active throughout her life on numerous church committees. She enjoyed sewing, making church banners, cooking, reading, and spending time with family.
Funeral Services will be held at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 222 North George Street, Millersville, PA 17551 on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11 AM with the Rev. Constance Mentzer officiating. There will be a visitation between 10 and 11 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Remembrances can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church (address above), Lancaster MOW (1085B Manheim
