Frances Ann Alcorn was born on 24 January 1813 at Ireland.2,3 She married James Hampton circa 1850.4 Frances Ann Alcorn died on 24 June 1894 at Piney Township, Clarion, Pennsylvania, at age 81. Her obit: At the residence of her daughter, Mrs. William Hays, in Piney township, Clarion County, Pa., June 24, 1894, Mrs. Fannie A. Hampton, in the 82nd year of her age. The deceased was brought up in the Episcopal church, and early in life she consecrated herself to her Savior. She was a woman of remarkable vigor of mind, even down through her old age. Being a great reader and possessing a naturally brilliant mind, her interest in the cause of Christ seemed never to abate. She loved her Savior and of the welfare of her children and family she was always delighted to hear. She was a blessing to the community in which she dwelt; kind, sincere and open hearted with all, and by all much loved. Now that she is gone, all miss her, but while we mourn our loss we are grateful that she was spared to us so long, and are especially grateful for that grace which made her life so beautiful and so fraught with good works. "The Lord giveth His beloved sleep." (Clarion Democrat, July 12, 1894.)1 She was buried on 27 June 1894 at Clarion Cemetery, Clarion, Clarion, Pennsylvania.1 Frances Ann Alcorn Find-a-Grave.com ID # 42736909.
